Our Purpose
We are a community of people growing closer to God through Jesus Christ in the company of friends and family.
This sentence summarizes how we see ourselves and understand our purpose.
- “Community” means we are not alone. We have each other. This community is called the “Church.”
- “Growing closer to God” means we believe there is but one true God. He is the Creator of everything and He is sovereign over all His creation. God invites each of us to have a personal relationship with Him.
- “Through Jesus Christ” means that relationship with God is found by putting our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead. Because of His sacrifice we can have a relationship with God and receive the gift of eternal life.
- “In the company of friends and family” means this invitation to a relationship with God is for everyone who would seek it. We are not on this journey alone, but we share it with others.
Our purpose as a church is to help people know God intimately, obey Him willingly and share Him joyfully with others.
