We are a family of four who are serving as missionary pastor and family with Village Missions in Oakley, Kansas. Oakley is in Northwest Kansas and is intersected by Highways 83 and 40 and Interstate 70. Our church is five miles south of town on Highway 83. The church personage, a remodeled Presbyterian Church building, is in town. Oakley is a community of just over 2,000 people and is primarily agricultural (wheat farming) and some cattle ranching. We have a congregation of approximately sixty people, half of which are children. Many in our congregation drive up to 50 miles one way to come to church.

Gordon is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University and Talbot School of Theology and has been in full-time ministry for 17 years.

Janis has an Associate Of Applied Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Minnesota at Crookston, and has worked as a Dietetic Technician in hospitals and nursing homes. She currently stays at home and is actively involved in our ministry.

Brittany is 12 years old and is in sixth grade and attends public school in Oakley. Tiffany is 10 years old and is in the fourth grade and attends public school in Oakley. Tiffany is 10 years old and is in teh fourth grade and attends public school in Monument, a town 10 miles west of Oakley.

Village Missions is a Mission organization whose purpose is to provide qualified, spiritual leadership primarily to rural churches in the United States and Canada where the need exists to win and disciple people to Christ through the proclamation and demonstration of the Gospel, for as long as such leadership is requested. Churches in these rural areas many times cannot support a pastor, and bi-vocational ministry is not always an option. Village Missions provides leadership and helps to subsidize some of the cost, aksing the missionary families to raise additional outside support also. There are currently close to 300 fields in the United States and Canada that are being served by Village Missions.

Our current ministries include Sunday School and worship services on Sunday morning, a Bible study and children's ministry on Wednesday evening, Vacation Bible school during the summer, and occasional outreach ministries to the community.
